Carey Price was drafted fifth overall in the 2005 NHL entry draft by the Montreal Canadiens. After playing for the Tri-City Americans in the WHL where he was a member of the West First All-Star Team, he left to play for the Hamilton Bulldogs of the AHL, and had some stunning seasons, including posting a.936 save percentage during the 06-07 AHL Playoffs.
The Montreal Canadiens signed Carey Price to a three year $850,000 contract in 2007, and made him the starting goaltender after trading Huet at the trade deadline in the spring of 2008. Carey's first game was against the Pittsburgh Penguins on October 10th 2007 and defeated the Pens with a 3-2 win, posting 26 saves. He was compared to Ken Dryden and Patrick Roy that night, as both legendary goaltenders both played their first games of their NHL careers as a member of the Canadiens and played their first games against the Pens and both recorded wins as well.
Carey Price won the Molson Cup award in October 07. He has continued to play very well, leading the Montreal Canadiens into the top of their conference, and into a berth of the 2008 Stanley Cup Playoffs.
